Walker County Man Sentenced To 12 Years For Meth Distribution
A 54-year-old man charged with selling methamphetamine out of his Walker County business was sentenced to 151 months in prison.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — A 54-year-old Walker County man was sentenced last week to 151 months in prison for selling methamphetamine out of his business. Thomas Scott Nix of Nauvoo pleaded guilty to four counts of distribution of methamphetamine in April.
Nix was arrested following an investigation of methamphetamine distribution in the Walker County area in the spring of 2018. During the investigation law enforcement learned Nix was routinely selling out of the shop on his property.
"Methamphetamine is a powerful and highly addictive substance that continues to plague our communities, leaving nothing behind but tragedy, violence, and addiction in its wake," said U.S. Attorney Jay Town. "Those who sell this poison destroy the user and their families. The idea that selling drugs is a victimless crime is a fiction. This sentence proves it is not a minor crime as well."

"Methamphetamine continues to devastate communities across Alabama," added Drug Enforcement Administration Assistant Special Agent in Charge Clay Morris. "Today’s sentencing is a reminder to both drug dealers who sell these highly addictive drugs and the families they try to destroy. DEA will not tolerate drug dealers like Thomas Nix and there is no limit to our pursuit in bringing you to justice. To the great citizens of Walker county and all communities across Alabama, DEA stands with you. You are not alone in this fight."
DEA, along with the Alabama Drug Task Force and the Jasper Police Department Narcotics Division investigated the case, which Assistant United States Attorney Jonathan Cross prosecuted.
