BIRMINGHAM, AL - A bevy of events in and around Railroad Park this weekend were expected to cause road closures and traffic delays throughout the city, but at least one of those events has now been rescheduled due to potential bad weather Sunday. The BHM 26.2 marathon and party has been rescheduled to April 28.

The event was expected to cause road closures along the race route, and those same detours and closures will be in effect on the rescheduled date.

"While we are disappointed to have to postpone the race, the safety of our runners, volunteers and attendees is of the utmost importance, and we are unwilling to risk their safety," said BHM26.2 race director Jeremy Walker. "The entire BHM26.2 team is grateful for the opportunity to reschedule the race, and we look forward to hosting a safe event on April 28. We appreciate the flexibility and understanding of everyone involved, as well as the gracious support extended to BHM 26.2, Magic Moments and Children's of Alabama."
