Wellness Center Headquarters Opens In Lakeview District
The Magic City Wellness Center, a division of Birmingham AIDS Outreach, is now headquartered at 3220 Fifth Ave. South.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — The Magic City Wellness Center, the first LGBTQ comprehensive health care facility in Alabama, opened its new headquarters in Birmingham's Lakeview district Monday.
The center began accepting appointments Oct. 5 at 3220 Fifth Ave. S. in space previously occupied by Baptist Health Systems, shared with the 1917 Clinic at UAB and Avita Pharmacy, according to a release from Birmingham AIDS Outreach.
“The collaboration BAO has with the UAB 1917 Clinic is a partnership that is unique and innovative”’ said Karen Musgrove, chief executive officer of Birmingham AIDS Outreach. “We work closely with UAB in several areas, and expanding to this new space and sharing a facility with the UAB 1917 Clinic is one more way we are working together to provide better health care and expanded research opportunities for the LGBTQ community and persons living with HIV, and ultimately, make Birmingham a healthier city.”
