What To Do In Birmingham This Weekend: March 7-8

BIRMINGHAM, AL — A week full of rain makes way for a clear weekend with some cooler temperatures, but getting out and about in the city is a great idea, especially with the events happening in and around Birmingham.

Here are some of the events happening in the Birmingham metro this weekend:

Saturday, March 7

Homewood Chili Cook-Off; Brookwood Village; 12 p.m.: More than 60 teams compete in a chili cooking competition, while thousands of guests enjoy live music, chili tasting, fun, and games.

Patton Creek Art Festival; Creekside Ave., Hoover, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.: Pp to 50 Fine Artist and Master Crafts for patrons to browse through. Food trucks and picnic tables will be there for your lunch among the arts. Wheelchair friendly. Free admission.

UAB Baseball; Regions Field, Birmingham, 1 p.m.: The UAB Blazers baseball team takes on the Toledo Rockets at Regions Field downtown.

Sunday, March 8

Big Head Todd and the Monsters; Iron City, Birmingham, 7 p.m.: Come seethe legendary Big Head Todd and the Monsters perform live at Birmingham's Iron City.

Twin Peaks Night; Sundance Cinema, Birmingham, 7 p.m.: Enjoy David Lynch's cult classic television series Twin Peaks from start to finish every Sunday.

Void Transmission Goth Night Dance Party; Saturn, Birmingham, 8 p.m.: Featuring a live performance from Athens goth-pop darlings Vision Video, this is sure to be a night for dark delights.
