BIRMINGHAM, AL — This weekend in Birmingham will feature perfect autumn weather, with clear skies and mid-50s temperatures, so getting out and about in the city is a great idea. Fortunately, there are plenty of activities and events happening in the Birmingham metro Nov. 1-3.

Friday, Nov. 1

Art After 5; Birmingham Museum of Art, 5-9 p.m.: Join in an evening of laid-back debauchery with a special night celebrating the cult classic film The Big Lebowski. Free admission.

Matthew Mayfield; Saturn Birmingham, 9 p.m.: Singer/songwriter and international recording artist Matthew Mayfield makes a stop in his hometown of Birmingham with a live show at Saturn. $20.

Frozen Jr.; Red Mountain Theatre, Nov. 1-3: Frozen Jr. is based on the 2018 Broadway musical, and brings Elsa, Anna, and the magical land of Arendelle to life, onstage. $5-$10.

Saturday, Nov. 2

Dia de Los Muertos; Pepper Place, 5 p.m.: Join Bare Hands as they celebrate life at the 17th Day of the Dead Festival. Celebrate the lives of those that came before and those that are still with us through music, memorial roll call, jazz street parade, the Frida Kahlo Ceremony, dance, food vendors and more. $10.

Moss Rock Festival; Moss Rock Preserve, Nov. 2-3: The 14th Moss Rock Festival is an outdoor, eco-creative weekend exploring Nature, SmartLIVING, Art + Design & more at The Preserve in Hoover. hikes & outdoor activities, live music on stage, and a Beer Garden. Park & Ride from the Hoover Met.

Christmas Village; BJCC, Nov. 1-3: Held annually at the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex, Christmas Village Festival is an Alabama tradition with deep roots not only in Alabama hearts, but in the hearts of customers all across the United States. Mothers and daughters, sisters, and friends begin their holiday shopping by meeting in Birmingham the first weekend in November to enjoy an amazing variety of gift ideas - all under one roof. $12.

Sunday, Nov. 3

Artswing; Upswing Birmingham, 11 a.m.: Forma Arts + Wellness has teamed up with REV Birmingham to bring a day of performance arts to Upswing, a downtown retail demonstration project at the corner of 2nd Avenue North and 19th Street.

Dan Deacon; Saturn, 8 p.m.: American composer and electronic musician Dan Deacon will perform live at Saturn in Avondale. $15
