Winter Storm Warnings Canceled In Alabama

Although some parts of the state have already received some snowfall, the National Weather Service has lifted the Winter Storm Warning.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - Although snow did fall overnight in parts of Alabama, the National Weather Service has lifted the Winter Storm Warning for the state. Snow may still fall in parts of the Birmingham metro, but not the 1-2 inches expected yesterday when the warning was issued.

The National Weather Service in Birmingham updated its Tuesday forecast to indicate rain showers early in the day, then gradual clearing. The rest of the day is expected to be breezy and cold with highs ranging from the mid 30s northwest to the upper 40s southeast.

Snow has been reported in many counties in north and central Alabama so far this morning, and the weather service has gotten reports of it sticking to grassy surfaces, but so far it hasn't accumulated.
