Woman Charged With Murder In Fairfield Stabbing

A fatal stabbing in Fairfield prompted the arrest of a 28-year-old woman.

FAIRFIELD, AL -- A 28-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with murder in the stabbing of a man in Fairfield. The incident occurred Thursday afternoon.

David Agee of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said deputies were dispatched at 2:26 p.m. Thursday to the 300 block of 52nd Street in Fairfield to investigate a report of a stabbing.

Deputies arrived and found a black male deceased on the scene. Agee said detectives have determined that the man's death resulted from an argument with a woman that he had a domestic relationship with.

During the argument the man was reportedly stabbed and died from his wounds. Jammie Hughes has been charged with his murder. Hughes was transported to the Jefferson County jail in Bessemer and held on $100,000 bond.
