MIDFIELD, AL — A 50-year-old woman has been charged in the shooting of another woman after a dispute regarding the suspect's boyfriend. The incident occurred at 9:45 a.m. Saturday when the 46-year-old victim and her boyfriend were shopping at Walgreens on Bessemer Super Highway.

An Alabama Media Group report said as the couple left the store and got into their vehicle, 50-year-old Katrina Davis drove into the parking lot at a high rate of speed and tried to cut off the couple’s vehicle. Both women reportedly got out of their vehicles and a physical fight ensued. At one point, reports say Davis pulled a gun and shot the victim. A witness flagged down a Fairfield police officer who took Davis into custody.

Officers tended to the victim on the scene. She was taken to UAB Hospital’s Trauma Center, where she underwent surgery. She was listed in stable condition Monday.
