Woman Injured In Fairfield Shooting

A shooting Friday morning in Fairfield left a woman injured after shots were fired at her vehicle on Lloyd Noland Parkway.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — A woman is in serious condition after shots were fired at her vehicle early Friday morning in Fairfield. The incident occurred just before 5 a.m. on Lloyd Noland Parkway.

Sgt. Joni Money of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said the woman had dropped someone off at a hotel in Fairfield, and after she left the location, a vehicle began following her.

"As she was driving on the on-ramp to I-59 North, someone inside the vehicle that was following her began firing shots at her vehicle," Money said. "The victim then exited the interstate and drove to the location on Lloyd Noland Parkway where she called for help. She was transported to UAB Hospital for treatment of her injuries."
