Woman Takes Own Life During Pursuit By Police
A theft suspect took her own life Friday while police were closing in on her in Homewood.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - A 69-year-old female theft suspect was being pursued by police Friday when she took her own life. The incident happened about 10 a.m. on Snow Drive in Homewood.
A report by Alabama Media Group said Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies went to the undisclosed address to serve a felony warrant for first-degree theft. Upon the deputies' arrival, the woman reportedly took her own life by a self-inflicted gunshot. Homewood police, he said, are conducting the death investigation.
