BIRMINGHAM, AL — A tumultuous week in national news had Alabama connections as the U.S. Capitol was raided by supporters of Pres. Donald Trump — which resulted in one Alabama resident dead and another arrested.
Also in the news this week, Birmingham mayor Randall Woodfin was hospitalized for COVID-19-related pneumonia. The mayor was eventually released from the hospital and is recovering.
