Woodfin: Warming Station Remains Open In Birmingham

Due to extreme cold temperatures the last few days, the warming station at the BJCC will remain open.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - Birmingham mayor Randall Woddfin said Tuesday the city will keep the warming station at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex open through the remainder of the week, as temperatures in Birmingham remained well below freezing for a third consecutive day.

The warming station has already served more than 400 people in the last three days, and officials with the city say donations are needed to keep serving those who do not have homes or do not have heat in their homes and must use the warming station to survive.

Woodfin posted a link to Twitter for volunteers to sign up to work the warming station.
