BIRMINGHAM, AL - The World Games 2021 is expected to have an enormous economic impact on Birmingham, and executives with the Games want to give small minority-owned businesses the chance to get a piece of the prosperity. The World Games 2021 today announced the kickoff of the World of Opportunity program, its supplier diversity initiative offering local, small, minority-owned and women-owned organizations the chance to be involved in current and future city-wide business opportunities.

The program provides Birmingham-based, diverse businesses direct access to future work with The World Games 2021 in a variety of categories, including transportation services, event production, security, promotional items, merchandise, sports equipment, food service, technology, printing, medical supplies, event equipment, waste removal, construction services and more.

To support the World of Opportunity initiative, The World Games 2021 also unveiled its supplier database, an online registration system developed by industry-leader CVM Solutions. The database, which officially launched during the kickoff event, allows local, diverse businesses to register and receive direct access to future opportunities to provide goods and services. At the conclusion of The World Games 2021, the database will be provided to the city of Birmingham as a legacy gift to support future events and programs.
