Governor Ivey Announces Additional Alabama Rural Health Transformation Program Grants Totaling Nearly $55 Million (alabama.gov) — Florence-area residents stand to benefit from a $683,500 grant to North Alabama Shoals Hospital, aimed at expanding early lung cancer detection across Lauderdale and nearby counties. Governor Ivey’s broader $55 million rural health package will also boost maternal care, EMS treat-in-place programs, cancer screening, and healthcare workforce training in small communities throughout Alabama.
