Baldwin County Public Schools releases Class of 2026 graduation dates, times, and venues (mynbc15.com) — Foley families can mark their calendars now: Baldwin Preparatory Academy graduates May 18 and Foley High School graduates May 20, both at the Foley Event Center at OWA. The full Baldwin County schedule includes multiple schools, times, and venues, with most ceremonies also available via livestream for relatives who can’t attend in person.

2. Foley man and convicted felon sentenced for having a gun that was used in a shooting (wkrg.com) — A Foley resident with a prior felony conviction has been sentenced to more than seven years in federal prison after investigators tied him to a gun used in a 2024 shooting in Foley. Police linked the weapon to videos on his phone and evidence recovered near a ditched car, and he’ll also serve supervised release after prison.

3. Foley And Baldwin County Partner On Emergency Safe Room (obawebsite.com) — Foley is building a hardened emergency safe room at East Berry Avenue and North Poplar Street to shelter more than 200 first responders during major storms. The city and Baldwin County are sharing easements so Riviera Utilities can power the facility, which will include a generator, kitchen, and new street lighting to keep operations running during hurricanes.

4. Mike Ebert takes new athletics role at Snook Christian following retirement from BCBE schools (gulfcoastmedia.com) — Longtime Foley coach and teacher Mike Ebert is stepping from Foley High School into a new role at nearby Snook Christian Academy, where he’ll serve as associate athletic director and head baseball coach. After nearly three decades in Baldwin County schools, he’s staying close to Foley, bringing his record-setting baseball experience and community ties to help grow Snook’s athletics programs.

5. Mullet Wrapper: First announced in 2018, Waterway Bridge is finally open to traffic in Gulf Shores & Orange Beach (mulletwrapper.net) — Drivers from Foley heading to Gulf Shores and Orange Beach will see big changes as the new southbound Waterway Bridge opens and the Foley Beach Express Bridge shifts to northbound-only traffic. Alabama’s purchase of the Foley Beach Express and new roundabouts aim to ease congestion well before Memorial Day and improve access across the Intracoastal Waterway.
