3 Teens Arrested After Friday Morning Car Burglaries
Three teens have been arrested after multiple car break-ins at an apartment complex in Hoover.

HOOVER, AL — Three teens were arrested Friday after reports of multiple car break-ins at the Barrington Apartment Homes on Summer Place Parkway in Hoover.
A report by the Hoover Police Department said the incident occurred around 3 a.m. Friday. Police said the teens were spotted near a breezeway at the apartment complex and when officers approached, they ran to a Hyundai Elantra in the parking lot.
One officer was struck by the fleeing vehicle as it was exiting a parking space, police said. A traffic stop was attempted but the vehicle immediately fled the scene and was pursued through Homewood and into Birmingham.

Police said the vehicle became disabled on Fourth Avenue South near 14th Street South. All three suspects fled on foot and were captured by Birmingham, Hoover and Homewood officers.
Deeric Mikell Lewis, 18, of Center Point and 18-year-old Jermaine Williams of Mountain View, Calif. were charged with unlawful breaking and entering a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property. They were taken to Jefferson County Jail.

A 17-year-old suspect was transferred to Jefferson County Family Court Friday afternoon.
The injured officer was treated for minor injuries at UAB Medical West Freestanding Emergency Room and released the same day. Two marked police Tahoe’s were also struck by the suspect vehicle as it was fleeing the parking lot of the apartment complex.
