Arrest Made In Theft From Hoover Restaurant
A man has been arrested and accused of stealing patio furniture from a Hoover restaurant.

HOOVER, AL — A little more than a week after patio furniture was stolen from a restaurant in Hoover, an arrest has been made in the case. Hoover police reported Wednesday that Darryl Varner of Birmingham has been arrested and charged with theft of property in the case.
The incident occurred March 23 ar Tre Luna Bar and Kitchen at 1021 Brocks Gap Parkway.
Surveillance footage showed the suspect loading the restaurant’s outdoor patio furniture into a trailer before leaving the scene. Still shots of the suspect and his vehicle with the trailer were released to the public via social media by Hoover police.

Hoover detectives received a tip identifying the suspect as Varner and an arrest warrant was obtained Friday. Varner turned himself in to police Wednesday.
He will be held at Jefferson County Jail on $7,500 bond.

Multiple restaurants in the Birmingham area have reported thefts since the COVID-19 outbreak.
Saw's Soul Kitchen, a popular barbecue restaurant in Avondale, said its large smoker rig, "Black Betty," was stolen this week from behind its office, according to a Facebook post by the restaurant.
Also, Birmingham police told CBS 42 that five establishments were broken into over the weekend – including Wasabi Juan's, the Momma Goldberg's on 20th Street, a Subway and two other businesses.
