Birmingham Man Arrested After Pair Of Burglaries
A 40-year-old Birmingham man has been arrested in connection with a pair of Jefferson County burgalries.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - A 40-year-old Birmingham man has been charged with a pair of burglaries that occurred Saturday in south Jefferson County. Leonard Christopher Daniels was arrested and charged with Obstructing Justice with False Identity and two counts of Burglary 2nd Degree.
Just before 5:00 p.m. August 11, Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a home in the 2700 block of Altadena Road. It was reported that a man had knocked on the door of the residence. When the victim opened the door the man forced his way inside, but the victim pushed the suspect back out the door and locked it. The suspect fled the scene on foot prior to the arrival of deputies.
As deputies were speaking to the victim they were notified of another burglary in progress nearby at a home in the 2600 block of King’s Ridge Drive. The suspect had entered the home through an unlocked side door and fled when confronted. The description of the suspect matched that of the previous burglary and was broadcast to other deputies in the area.

The suspect was found walking along Altadena Road, was stopped and positively identified as the person who had committed both burglaries. He told deputies his name was Chris Hampton, but deputies were able to determine he was actually Daniels.

Daniels remains in jail with bond set at $10,300.
