HOOVER, AL — A $9.5 million project in Bluff Park was approved last week by the Hoover City Council. The project includes the redevelopment and expansion of Bluff Park Village, construction of a new building and a community gathering space within the development for special events.

“We’re excited because this project will affect one of our historic neighborhoods in the City," said Hoover Mayor Frank Brocato in a press release. "This is a great opportunity for redevelopment and to revitalize the commercial ventures already under way in that neighborhood."

Harden Properties, who owns the 10.84-acre Bluff Park Village shopping center at 2146 Tyler Road, plans to remodel the exterior of the shopping center and add interconnecting sidewalks to allow for walkability from residential areas.

Harden plans to lease the new building to Piggly Wiggly, which has a location nearby in Shades Mountain Plaza.

The Piggly Wiggly, operated by Naseem Ajlouny, will expand in size and services, and its interior design will be consistent with the design of the operator's new Dunnavant Valley store in Mt. Laurel.
