Bucs And Jags Remain In State Top 15
Hoover and Spain Park are both ranked in the top 15 in Alabama's football rankings according to MaxPreps.
HOOVER, AL - Both high schools in Hoover have been mainstays atop the state rankings in football this season, as Hoover and Spain Park head into Week 8 of the 2017 season. Hoover heads to Vestavia to take on the Rebels Friday, while Spain Park travels to Tuscaloosa to battle Tuscaloosa County.
Hoover is ranked No. 3 in the MaxPreps rankings, carrying a 7-1 record. The Bucs only loss came to defending Georgia state champs Grayson in Week 1. Spain Park, ranked 12th this week, has dropped three games this season, all to top 10 teams. The Jags lost to Hoover 27-24, then lost to 10th-ranked Mountain Brook in an overtime shootout, 51-50. Top ranked Thompson beat Spain Park last week 40-17, dropping the Jags from their No. 8 ranking.
Hoover gets its shot at the No. 1 Thompson Warriors next week before hosting Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy Nov. 4. The Jags have Oak Mountain and Minor still on the schedule before beginning a possible playoff run.
