Bucs Season Opener Will Air On ESPN

ESPN will televise a clash of state champions at the Hoover Met August 25 when Hoover takes on Pinson Valley.

HOOVER, AL - The gridiron clash between the 2017 state champions in 6A and 7A will be broadcast on national television August 25. ESPN will feature Hoover's opening game against Pinson Valley at the Hoover Met at 11 a.m., part of a double-header that also features Hewitt-Trussville taking on Cedar Grove.

This would not be the first time the Bucs have appeared on ESPN. In addition to the 2006 ESPN reality television show "Two-A-Days," which featured the Hoover football team during its 2005 season, a 2005 match-up between Hoover and a Tim Tebow-led Nease High School was aired on ESPN, and the Bucs' season opener in 2014 against Miami Central also received ESPN airplay.

Auburn football fans might want to pay attention to the game, as Pinson Valley quarterback Bo Nix committed to play for the Tigers next season, following in the footsteps of his father, Patrick Nix. Hoover wide receiver George Pickens is another Auburn commit for 2019.
