Car Dealership In Hoover Faces Opposition From Committee

HOOVER, AL — A proposed car dealership along the 280 corridor is facing opposition from residents - and ultimately, from the Hoover Planning and Zoning Committee - amidst traffic concerns. The proposed dealership would be located at Tattersall Park.

The Hoover Planning and Zoning Committee listened to concerns from nearby residents regarding development at Tattersall Park this week at a meeting and ultimately said they do not recommend zoning the development to accommodate car dealerships, according to the Birmingham Business Journal.

Tattersall Park, at the intersection of Alabama 119 and U.S. 280, is home to a Publix that is currently under construction, and information from RBY Retail shows that Publix joins Brookwood Baptist Medical Center, Next Level, Covenant Classical Schools, Gooch Family Dentistry, Walk-On’s Bistreaux & Bar, APCO Credit Union, Bridgestone/Firestone, and Blue Rain as phase one occupants of the development.

The committee's opposition does not mean the dealership is not coming to the area, but it does not bode well for when the Hoover City Council votes on the matter later this summer.
