Church Of The Highlands To Make Grandview Site College Campus

HOOVER, AL - The Birmingham mega-church, Church of the Highlands, announced it will move its two-year college Highlands College from Greystone to its Grandview campus. Church leaders plan to be relocated by 2021 with the capacity to train 1,000 students on the expansive Grandview property.

Leadership aims to raise $100 million in an Eternal Impact Campaign in order to create a state-of-the-art campus, which eventually will include student housing, according to a release by the school. The campaign also will fund an endowment that will enable up to 1,000 students to attend Highlands College on full scholarships.

"This location is perfectly suited for a college campus and relocating there will elevate our visibility within the community," the release stated.

"The truth is, as great and effective as Highlands College has been so far, we need to grow," the release states. "Our vision demands it. The strategic plan to become a world-class, biblical training institution doesn’t stop where it is today. Currently a two-year, certificate program, Highlands college now holds applicant status with the Association of Biblical Higher Education Commission on Accreditation."

During Church of the Highlands’ very first year in 2001, they launched an internship designed to develop ministry leaders called 24/7. After 10 years of growth, practice, and strategic planning, that program completed its transformation into Highlands College.
