Here are the top three stories in Hoover today:

  1. The U.S. Department of Commerce's Economic Development Disaster Recovery Program has awarded the Jefferson County Commission with a $450,000 grant. The money will be used to identify life sciences assets and opportunities in the region. The money will be shared with the Birmingham Business Alliance Foundation and the Shelby County Commission.   2. The Thanksgiving season can be a difficult time for individuals experiencing food insecurity. The United Way of Central Alabama's Meals on Wheels program serves meals to nearly 2,000 homebound seniors in Jefferson County.
