Escaped Hoover Jail Inmate Captured By Police

A man arrested Wednesday night, accused of firing shots at his girlfriend, escaped from Hoover Jail Thursday.

HOOVER, AL — Hoover Police were searching for a suspect after he escaped from the Hoover City Jail Thursday morning. Theodoric Rapheal Boglin Jr. 24, was captured just before 11 p.m. off I-65 near La Quinta.

Boglin was arrested Wednesday night after he reportedly fired shots at his girlfriend near the Circle K, in the 2000 block of Valleydale Road. He was arrested at 11:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Homewood Suites on Riverchase Parkway East and transported to the Hoover City Jail, according to police.

Detectives were in the process of obtaining formal arrest warrants against Boglin when he escaped, police said. The details of his escape are currently under investigation but it appears he was able to access a perimeter door.
