A fight broke out at the Riverchase Galleria, causing it to shut down 40 minutes early Thanksgiving night.

HOOVER, AL - A fight broke out between two teenagers at the Riverchase Galleria Thanksgiving night, causing the Birmingham metro's largest shopping mall to close 40 minutes early. No arrests were made, according to reports.

A report by Alabama Media Group said the fight between two juvenile females began at approximately 11 p.m. outside the Buckle on the second floor of the mall. Hoover police were called to the scene and the participants were separated and identified by officers. They were treated by paramedics for minor injuries. The fight was not related to post-Thanksgiving sales, according to the report.

Although there were reports of shots being fired and multiple arrests made, the Hoover Police Department issued a statement to the contrary: "Approximately one hour prior to the fight call, police received reports of shots being fired outside the mall near the Macy's parking lot. Officers responded and no evidence of gunfire was located. No major incidents were reported at the Galleria or any of the city's other shopping facilities. As previously reported, Hoover Police will have extra officers on site at our retail areas throughout the holiday season to ensure the safety and security of the patrons and stores in our city."
