HOOVER, AL — Hoover police are trying to identify a suspect they say attempted to cash a forged check for more than $8,000 using a phony Georgia ID. Police said the incident occurred Feb. 4 at a CB&S branch on Doug Baker Blvd.

Police said the suspect's vehicle information is unknown.
