Former Spain Park Hoops Star Austin Wiley To Enter NBA Draft

Former Spain Park basketball star and Auburn sophomore Austin Wiley has declared for the NBA draft, but has not hired an agent.

AUBURN, AL - Former Spain Park Jaguar and current Auburn University sophomore Austin Wiley announced Tuesday he will enter the NBA draft. However, Wiley did not sign with an agent, which means he keeps his NCAA eligibility in the event he goes undrafted.

Wiley made his announcement on Twitter:

Wiley, who was the ASWA 7A Player of the Year during his junior season at Spain Park, transferred to Calusa Prep School in Miami, Florida, before graduating and enrolling at Auburn in December of 2016. He played the final 23 games of the 2016-17 season for the Tigers and averaged 8.8 points and 4.7 rebounds. Controversy surrounding Wiley's eligibility kept him from playing at all during this past season, a season that saw Auburn win the SEC title.

Auburn reported violations related to Wiley involving recruiting, extra benefits and agents, according to a release by the NCAA earlier this year. The NCAA said Wiley would be eligible at the start of the 2018-19 season based on its current information in the case.
