Alabaster 14-Year-Old Charged In Sunday Afternoon Homicide
The investigation confirmed that the Sunday fatal shooting took place during a drug transaction at a Hoover apartment complex.

HOOVER, AL - An arrest has been made in the murder of 23-year-old Darryl Levon Seay. Sunday at 4:49 p.m., the Hoover Police Department responded to a shooting in the parking lot of the 2300 building at The Park at Hoover apartment complex.
Police and fire units arrived on scene to find the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck, according to police reports. The victim was transported to UAB hospital by a Hoover Fire Department rescue unit but was pronounced deceased a short time later. The investigation confirmed that the shooting took place during a drug transaction. Detectives followed up on leads throughout the night and were able to identify the shooter.
The defendant, a 14-year-old male from Alabaster, was taken into custody Tuesday and will be transferred to Jefferson County Family Court. He will be charged with capital murder.
