Fundraiser Launched On Behalf Of Megan Montgomery
A GoFundMe campaign in support of victims of domestic violence has been launched on behalf of Megan Montgomery.

HOOVER, AL — Family and friends of Megan Montgomery are honoring her memory by launching a fundraising campaign on her behalf to benefit victims of domestic violence. Montgomery was killed early Sunday morning, and her husband, Jason McIntosh, has been charged with capital murder in her death.
"We are a group of friends that want to show our support of one of our own, Megan Montgomery. A few days ago, Megan lost her life," the GoFundMe campaign page reads. "Donating money to an organization that provides support to victims of domestic violence, in memory of Megan, could hopefully help victims of DV receive the support and services he or she needs. We have selected the Alabama Coalition Against Domestic Violence to receive the donations from this fundraiser."
The coalition provides training, technical assistance, public policy and development and support to domestic violence center programs.

The GoFundMe campaign in Montgomery's honor has a $50,000 goal.
Montgomery's husband already had an arrest for domestic violence this year, an incident that prompted his resignation from the Hoover Police Department. Both Montgomery and McIntosh had a restraining order against one another, and Montgomery filed for divorce in May. However, the case was still pending at the time of Montgomery's death.
