Galleria Shooting Victim Identified, May Have Been Targeted

A deadly shooting at the Riverchase Galleria Wednesday is still being investigated by the Hoover Police Department.

HOOVER, AL - The victim in a fatal shooting at the Riverchase Galleria Wednesday afternoon has been identified. The Jefferson County Coroners Office has identified Zachariah Taylor Music, 20, of Hoover, as the victim in yesterday’s homicide in the North parking deck at the Riverchase Galleria.

Detectives are continuing to investigate this case. Hoover police said they responded to a call just after 1 p.m. of shots fired at the mall, and found the victim dead upon arrival. Police do not have a suspect in custody yet.

Reports from shoppers say anywhere between 5-7 shots were heard.

A report by police Wednesday night indicated that the shooting may not have been random, and that Music could have been targeted.
