Grocery Store, Retail Center Planned For 5.5-Acre Lot In Hoover
Hoover's planning and zoning commission recommends 5.5 acres at South Shades Crest Road and Morgan Road be rezoned for a new development.

HOOVER, AL - A new retail center may be in the works for Hoover, as the city’s planning and zoning commission recommended about 5.5 acres at the intersection of South Shades Crest Road and Morgan Road be rezoned.
The Birmingham office of RealtyLink Investments requested the property - which is zoned for agricultural use - be rezoned so it can be combined with 10 acres that is already zoned as a community business district, according to a report by the Birmingham Business Journal.
The developer’s plans call for a 48,000-square-foot grocery store and a 4,000-square-foot separate retail building and two outparcels. The grocery store was not named in the proposal.
