Hoover Arson: Arrest Made In Fire That Killed Family Dog
A man has been arrested in connection with an Oct. 2 arson case, which killed a family dog.

HOOVER, AL — A man has been arrested in connection with an Oct. 2 house fire that resulted in the death of a family dog. According to Hoover Police, William Boglin Jr., 57, of Bessemer, turned himself in Wednesday afternoon and was transferred to the Jefferson County Jail where he posted bond.
The fire occurred in the 5400 block of Scout Trace Lane the afternoon of Oct. 2. According to police, the residents were not home at the time of the fire but their dog was killed in the blaze.
An investigation by the Hoover Police and Fire Department’s fire investigation unit revealed that the fire was intentionally set. Investigators gathered evidence and reviewed surveillance footage from the victim’s home as well as footage from other homes in the area.

Boglin is charged with second-degree arson and first-degree animal cruelty. His bonds totaled $100,000.
