HOOVER, AL — The first day of school for students in Hoover is just around the corner. While it may seem early - students begin classes August 8 this year - the number of days students are in class remains the same as always.

First day for students: August 8

Labor Day: September 2

End of first grading period: October 9

Teacher work day: October 14

Veterans Day: November 11

Thanksgiving holiday: November 25-29

End of semester: December 20

Winter Holiday: December 23-January 3

MLK Day: January 20

Presidents Day: February 17

End of third grading period: March 12

Spring Break: March 23-27

Teacher Work Day: April 10

Spain Park graduation: May 20

Hoover graduation: May 21

Last day for students: May 22
