Hoover Doctor's Office Subject of DEA Raid
Local doctor's office was the subject of a DEA raid due to reports of over-prescribing certain drugs.
HOOVER, AL - The Alabama Drug Enforcement Agency raided a Hoover doctor's office Tuesday, based on allegations that the office was over-prescribing controlled substances. The state DEA executed a search warrant at the Hoover Alt MD Family Wellness & Spa on South Shades Crest Road earlier in the day, but no one was taken into custody.
The FBI, Hoover Police Department, and the Alabama Pharmacy Board are taking part in the ongoing investigation. Brett Hamilton with the DEA told ABC 33/40, "As long as doctors continue to over-prescribe or prescribe without a legitimate medical need the DEA will continue to investigate."
