Hoover Drops In ASWA Rankings Heading Into Clash With Thompson
Hoover and Thompson swapped places in the most recent ASWA poll, but that may change as the two teams face off Friday.

HOOVER, AL - Both Hoover and Spain Park lost their games last weekend, which dropped both teams in the most recent Alabama Sports Writers Association Top 10 rankings. Hoover's loss to St. John's (52-14) dropped the previously top-ranked Bucs to No. 2, and Spain Park's loss to Bessemer City dropped the Jags to No. 10.
That could change this weekend, as the Bucs face Thompson - the team that replaced them at the top spot - a team Hoover was 1-1 against last season.
Spain Park hosts Vestavia Hills this weekend, as the Jags hope to bounce back against a team coming off a thrilling win against rival Homewood. (For more updates on this story and free news alerts for your neighborhood, sign up for your local Patch morning newsletter.)
