Hoover Foster Mother Arrested For Abuse Of 5 Week Old Baby

A Hoover foster mother has been arrested on charges of aggravated child abuse.

HOOVER, AL - A Hoover woman who had been fostering an infant child has been arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse. Alessandra Terin Bishop, 27, was arrested at a home on East Lane in Vestavia Hills over the weekend following an investigation that lasted almost two weeks.

According to a report from WBMA, the investigation began by the Hoover Police Department on Oct. 16 when the infant was taken to Children's of Alabama with an arm injury. Hoover's Special Victim's Unit responded and began its investigation. Reports say the baby suffered 11 bone fractures, including breaks in both arms and both legs.

Bishop has been transported from Hoover City Jail to the Jefferson County Jail, and her bond is set at $30,000 dollars.
