HOOVER, AL — The chance to mingle with the local police department does not come up often, but thanks to a national initiative to bridge the communication gap between citizens and law enforcement, the Hoover Police Department is hosting its annual Hoover Night Out August 6.

The event gives the Hoover PD the opportunity to visit with the citizens the department serves. Residents get an up close and personal look at some of the tools that the HPD uses on a daily basis which help keep the citizens of Hoover safe.

The event will be held in the Belk parking lot at the Riverchase Galleria. Admission is free, and the event begins at 6 p.m.
