Hoover Officer Involved In Shooting At Wood Gardens Apartments

HOOVER, AL - The Hoover Police Department and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency are investigating an early morning shooting involving a Hoover police officer and an armed civilian. The incident occurred at the Wood Gardens apartment complex.

According to the Hoover PD, shortly after 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, the Hoover 911 Center received a call reporting a hostile male armed with a gun inside an apartment at Wood Gardens.

Officers responded and during the incident, one subject was shot in his hand. He was transported to UAB Hospital where he is being treated for a non-life threatening injury.

Jefferson County District Attorney Danny Carr has requested that ALEA handle the investigation into the incident. Hoover police are also conducting an internal investigation. Any further information will be released by ALEA.
