Hoover PD Looking for Identity Theft Suspect
A woman who police say stole a purse from a car in Hoover is using that victim's ID to cash checks in Mountain Brook, Vestavia and Pinson.

HOOVER, AL - The Hoover Police Department is looking for a woman who is wanted for questioning in an identity theft case which occurred on February 16. Originally, a victim’s car was broken into while parked in the 600 block of Preserve Parkway on January 21. Among the stolen items included a purse, driver license, credit cards and checks.
The victim’s license was subsequently used to try and cash a stolen out of state check at a Regions Bank in Pinson. It is believed that this individual is connected to similar incidents from surrounding jurisdictions, including Mountain Brook, Vestavia Hills and Chalkville, where stolen checks were successfully cashed.
