Hoover PD Officers Visit Library 'Free Lunch For Kids' Event

Hoover police officers paid a visit to kids at the Hoover Library last week during its "Free Lunch for Kids" event.

HOOVER, AL - Some Hoover kids received an unexpected treat last week when officers with the Hoover Police Department showed up at the Hoover Library's "Free Lunch for Kids" event.

The Hoover Public Library, Hoover, Alabama and Hoover City Schools are partnering to offer free lunches for children on weekdays this summer at the library. "So, we figured it might be fun giving out some Hoover Police footballs and HPD badge stickers to the kids who came out today," said a statement issued by the Hoover PD.

"Everyone got an up close and personal look at two of our Harley Davidson Police Motorcycles that Motor Scout Officers Dozier and Phillips get to drive," the Hoover PD said. "Officer Dozier is in one of the photos showing a few kids how the radar gun operates. Officer Allen had his patrol Tahoe there for everyone to look at as well. Anytime we have the opportunity to interact and visit with our citizens, especially children, is an awesome experience."
