Hoover PD Seeks Person Of Interest In Theft, Credit Card Fraud

Police say a man twice broke into cars and stole debit cards, then later used the cards to make fraudulent purchases.

HOOVER, AL — The Hoover Police Department is trying to identify a man they say was involved in two vehicle break-in and credit/debit card fraud cases that occurred Jan. 22 and Jan. 28.

A report by Hoover police said the the first incident occurred in the 100 block of Inverness Plaza. A purse was stolen out of the vehicle, and not long after the break-in, the victim’s credit card was fraudulently used at Home Depot on Highway 280 to purchase merchandise, according to the Hoover PD report.

The second incident occurred in the 600 block of Municipal Drive. Police say a purse was stolen out of a vehicle and the victim’s credit card was fraudulently used at Walmart in Pelham and Sunoco Hwy 31.

The individual is described as a tall Black male wearing a Gucci ball cap, driving a light colored minivan.
