Hoover Police Officer Arrested In Birmingham Drug Investigation

BIRMINGHAM, AL — A Hoover police officer and his wife were arrested by Birmingham police Monday and charged with multiple drug offenses.

Officer Barry Stamps and his wife Mary Stamps were stopped by Birmingham police Monday afternoon and found to be in possession of 27 grams of cocaine, five grams of marijuana and two handguns, according to Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department.

Barry Stamps and Mary Stamps were charged with possession with intent to distribute, unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
