Hoover Teen Identified As Victim In Fatal I-65 Crash
A fatal crash on I-65 Monday claimed the life of 17-year-old Hayden Alexander Perry of Hoover.

HOOVER, AL - A fatal crash on I-65 Monday claimed the life of a Hoover teenager. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified 17-year-old Hayden Alexander Perry as the victim in the massive accident that damaged multiple vehicles.
The incident occurred just before midnight Monday on I-65 southbound at Daniel Payne Drive. A report from Alabama Media Group said Perry was the driver of a 2000 Ford F-250 that was traveling southbound on the interstate when the truck left the road for unknown reason and struck the concrete base of a light pole. The truck burst into flames.
The pole fell across the truck, and also struck several vehicles, according to Birmingham Fire and Rescue Battalion Chief Sebastian Carrillo. As many as 12 vehicles were damaged when they drove over the fallen pole.

Perry was pronounced dead on the scene at 11:35 p.m. No one else was injured.
Perry attended Bluff Park Elementary School, Simmons Middle School and Hoover High School. A memorial service is set for 3 p.m. Friday at Shades Crest Baptist Church.
