Hoover Traffic Accident Claims Life Of 61-Year-Old Man

HOOVER, AL - A three-vehicle accident on the I-459 ramp at John Hawkins Parkway resulted in the death of a 61-year-old man Sunday. The Jefferson County Coroner’s office has identified the deceased as Tony Emanuel Tarver of Birmingham.

Sunday at 2:36 p.m., Hoover police and fire departments responded to John Hawkins Parkway at the I-459 Southbound exit ramp at a three vehicle crash. A white Mercedes GLC300 exiting from I-459 collided with a 2004 green Toyota Camry traveling west on John Hawkins Parkway. The Toyota then reportedly veered into the eastbound lanes, where it collided with a 2004 green Volkswagen Passat.

Hoover Fire and Rescue transported the driver of the Passat to St. Vincent’s East hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:29 P.M. A passenger in the Passat was transported to UAB hospital by ambulance and is in stable condition.

The driver of the Toyota sustained minor injuries and was transported to UAB Freestanding ER by private auto. No other injuries were reported.
