Hoover's 'Battle Of The Badges' Blood Drive Among Best In Nation
Hoover's "Battle of the Badges" blood drive collected more than 100 units of donated blood, ranking it among the top drives in the U.S.

HOOVER, AL - Hoover's "Battle of the Badges" blood drive last week, hosted by the Hoover Police Department and Hoover Fire Department, was one of the most successful campaigns in the country, according to reports by the Hoover PD.
"I want to thank everyone that came out to support our inaugural American Red Cross 'Battle of the Badges' blood drive on Wednesday," said Hoover Police Chief Nick Derzis. "We called on everyone, from city staff to the Hoover citizens themselves, to support this blood drive and 'respond to the call.' Thank you for your patience and for making this blood drive a success."
The final stats showed that a total of 117 people come to the blood drive and brought in a total of 101 units/pints of blood for the Hoover community. This put the Hoover blood drive in the top 10 in the country among “Battle of the Badges” blood drives.
