Hotel At Hoover Met Complex In The Works

A new hotel could be on the way to the Hoover Metropolitan Complex, after the Hoover City Council approved a feasibility study this week.

HOOVER, AL - A growing area in Hoover may be the site of a new hotel, if a feasibility study approved this week by the Hoover City Council supports the project. The council entered into an agreement with CBRE Hotels to conduct the study for a hotel located the Hoover Metropolitan Complex.

The study will consider if a hotel could work on a site located near the Finley Center and the baseball stadium. It will look at the market demand, how many rooms, and which hotel brands may work for the area, according to a Birmingham Business Journal report.

The Hoover Met Complex is part of the city's diversification from retail to other economic drivers such as events and conventions, and a hotel could help that effort.

The multimillion dollar Stadium Trace Village project is taking shape not far from the Met Complex, and a number of new residential neighborhoods are taking shape as well.
