Jim Baggett To Highlight How To Use Archives To Research Books
Award-winning Birmingham Public Library archivist Jim Baggett will lead a discussion Aug. 24 about using archives to research books.
From the Birmingham Public Library: Birmingham Public Library archivist Jim Baggett helps researchers and authors from around the world conduct civil rights and other types of research for books using the library's extensive archives collection. He will be hosting a lecture Saturday, Aug. 24, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Avondale Regional Branch Library to share tips about how the library can help them.
Baggett's work as an archivist has earned him the a 2019 Eminent Librarian Award from the Alabama Library Association. His lecture is entitled “Getting in Their Heads: Using Archives to Understand Ordinary People in the Past.”
