Man Arrested After Hammer Attack On Woman In Hoover Apartment
Police arrested a 35-year-old man after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend with a hammer.

HOOVER, AL - A 35-year-old man is behind bars and charged with attempted murder after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend in her Hoover apartment. The incident occurred May 17.
Hoover Police and Fire were dispatched around 11:30 a.m. May 17 to the 800 block of Crown Reserve Drive to treat the assault victim. Officers and medics arrived on the scene and learned that the victim had been assaulted at her apartment, located in the 3700 building of The Abby at Riverchase.
The victim told police she was inside her apartment when her boyfriend entered the residence and they began arguing. She said he then pushed her into a dresser and began striking her with a hammer.

The victim reportedly sustained injuries to her head, face, and arms before she was able to fight off the attack. The suspect left the apartment with the victim’s phone so she drove herself to a friend’s apartment to call 911. An ambulance transported the victim to UAB hospital for treatment.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office arrested Anthony Jovon Pippen of Hueytown Monday at 4:45 p.m. He is charged with attempted murder and domestic violence with a total bond of $90,000.
