Man Gets 4 Life Sentences For Rape Of Child In Hoover

Man convicted of raping a young family member has been given four life sentences.

HOOVER, AL - A man convicted of repeatedly raping a young family member in Hoover has been given four consecutive life sentences' Brian King, 39, was arrested last fall and charged with first-degree rape, second-degree rape, three counts of first-degree sodomy, three counts of second-degree sodomy, enticing a child for immoral purposes and incest.

Due to the age of the victim and the nature of the crime, few details of the crime have been released, but Hoover police described King to Alabama Media Group last year upon his arrest as "one of the most twisted, sickening and repulsive humans we've ever run across." "We are very pleased with the sentence handed down by the judge today,'' said Hoover police Capt. Gregg Rector. "This was an emotional case from the beginning and it's one that each detective involved will always remember."

Rector added, "Brian King was smug during his interrogation, while making statements that were sickening and twisted,'' Rector said. "We believe four life sentences sounds just about right."

The investigation into the case lasted more than two months before King was arrested, and he had moved to Fultondale by the time the arrest was made. In addition to the four life sentences, he received a 10-year sentence for unlawful possession of marijuana. King has been jailed on $270,000 bond since his arrest one year ago.
